Wayne's successful recovery from Plantar Fasciitis and associated lower back and neck pain

Wayne Facebook Review

Wayne initially came to me with Plantar Fasciitis heal and arch pain and a lump on each arch. After our initial consultation other issues emerged which were also a problem. Long standing lower back problem which was compounded by sitting for extended period Wayne is a consultant and motocross bike rider.

The last area of concern was a neck issue probably associated with working for extended periods on a laptop. After a discussion about posture walking and standing, walking was manageable but standing was difficult we focused on the feet.

First focus is pain relief, pain relief and a bit more pain relief. Both feet were equal in pain so time was distributed evenly between them. First session marked improvement in pain in both feet and lumps reduced in size. Second session again a significant reduction in pain in feet but a marked increase in pain in neck and lower back. Wayne had done several conferences and social events where standing for extended periods of time. Change of focus from feet to back and neck saw the elimination of neck pain and a reduction in back pain and feet pain. Still issues with standing so looked at posture and foot position Wayne tried alterations and drinking pints with his opposite hand was a challenge on many levels.

Wayne had his best nights sleep and was performing his best in motocross for some time with a 3rd place finish on until he ran out of fuel! Wayne had been walking and significantly more active and was generally moving much better, Pain in feet, lower back and neck significantly better and intermittent rather than constant also had significant periods of no pain which was liberating but also frustrating when it returned even at a low level.

This transition where we are close the last 20% is the most difficult as you have experienced pain free. This is important as now you compare to zero not how you were and don’t consider you are doing more to fighting against the pain recovery. Also if you have multiple areas of pain as one reduces another area pops up so it feels frustrating where you tend to focus on the area of most pain.

For Wayne he had a setback which was due to feeling great and much improved he fell of his bike racing which impacted on his back. More treatment and some additional focused movements and he was back pain free and mobile. Wayne was a gentleman to work with and embraced everything he analysed and processed all the detail. He has had a reduction in size and shape of his lumps but they are still their just not painful. The only pain Wayne feels now is fatigue from long walks or intense activity.
