Knee Pain Treatment is a little different at InterX Pain Clinic Stratford Upon Avon

I follow my 5 step process for knee pain treatment, using different medical devices to help with pain and inflammation and a bespoke and comprehensive mobility and rehabilitation package.

Knee issues can be complex, due to the forces exerted on the knee and supporting structures. People with knee pain tend to fall into two categories: Firstly about 50% of my clients have either Osteoarthritis to some degree and a significant amount of people with knee replacements on one or both knees. The second group is everything else, ligament damage, tendonitis, cartilage damage, bursitis etc, these injuries can relate to a sport or from general wear and tear.

With this in mind Step 1 of my process is essential to look at movement patterns as issues and injury tend to occur with a trigger. Walking is a core movement with knee rehabilitation as the forces on the knee vary considerably depending on the position.

The force pressure on your knee doing different activities varies a lot. Going upstairs its 3 x body weight on each knee, but downstairs is 5x Body weight each knee. Walking is half body weight force which is important.

A normal walking gait cycle means that half your body weight is on either knee because both feet are in contact with the ground. This is further aided by doing shorter strides initially in rehabilitation so the calf muscles can support the knee more and reduce the load on the knee which helps with pain.

The video gives a snapshot of treatment using InterX to help with pain reduction and a rapid decrease in Inflammation. This is one of the devices used to aid knee pain recovery

Walking is a Key component of knee recovery, but you need to use your knee correctly. I use walking as an initial start along with sitting to stand and stairs to start the process then move onto a variety of additional movements depending on the Injury and focused outcome. I have a Masterclass on knee pain where I have live sessions to explain how what I do helps and answer questions on different types of knee Pain.

I have a Facebook group Knee Pain Masterclass which showcases FB Lives and support video with essential information to help treat and cure Knee Pain and recover from a Knee Replacement.
