
Many of you will know why I started in health and rehabilitation. My frustration with finding answers to health and rehabilitation problems started 30 years ago. I was injured on active duty with the Royal Marines and developed Osteo-Arthritis. 30 Years Later a replacement hip 20 years ago and one 8 years ago, I've had my own rehabilitation journey.
This required me to approach my challenges differently and change my approach. This was the start of Energy Medicine and my Clinic Practice and Online help and support with Plantar Fasciitis Rehabilitation!
My starting point for a rehabilitation practice was recovery from orthopaedic joint surgery, particularly replacement knees and hips in line with my own journey.
What I noticed was many of my patients had foot and ankle mobility and coordination issues. In cases where people had not recovered from surgery well, plantar fasciitis was common as they were stressing the foot while moving.
Standard focus 14 years ago was orthotics and cushioned shoes. This was making little difference and in many cases the plantar fasciitis got worse.
My initial thoughts were the knee or hip movement was the issue after all they had just had major surgery.
This proved partially true, but when I treated Malcolm just for plantar fasciitis the issues were the same.
This prompted some video analysis, bare feet and some wet paper to see the stride pattern. What I saw changed everything!
We don’t walk correctly!
This is only highlighted if we have a injury primarily, or want to improve a specific sporting action.
My focused changed on what to do, rather than symptoms treatment, start from the fascia which is damaged and work backwards.
Plantar Fasciitis Rehabilitation was devised and I have being developing and refining ever since, both with over 3000 clinic patients and 600 online at home patients to get to this point.
The real fix is in the feet.
